The end of another week....

Welp, can't believe it's Thursday already. I have a bunch of things on my to do list for this afternoon, and tonight we're having a couple over for some good ol' grillin...and get this: THEY'RE MY AGE!!!! Should be fun. They also just moved back to the area because this is where his parents are from....pretty much same story as us. =) Only he's not a dentist....and she's not pregnant. ummmm ok.

Also, Erin, Cale, Evan, and Dallas will be visiting for a WEEK starting this Saturday, and the following Saturday, we will all go back to NE for the weekend!! Woohoooo! I've got lots of activities planned...some dunes, rental bikes to cruise around the town on, beach time, berry picking, bonfires and smores, carnival thing at the practice (our welcome party- all the patients are invited) woah....and some other things I can't remember right now. Loads of fun. THAT will be a full house...and it's only half the fam!! Dang.

I think they're coming at a good time...I was starting to get a bit homesick...it will be three months away from NE when we go back. That's a long time to not see the parents. And then after that might be another 3 months for Thanksgiving, which is still up in the air because I will be about 3 weeks away from blowin up...and once the kid comes along, who knows what vacations will look like.

Would you find out if you were having a boy or a girl? I need some opinions.

Also, this weeks mystery food is a 'large sweet potato'. Can't even imagine that something is that big inside me. It's only going to get bigger too. one word. ouch.

It's official.

Check it out. I'm no longer a Nebraskan. Love the car though. Just figured out again, 30.5 miles per gallon. What a beast. Kicks Tanner's truck to the curb. =)

Also today, got my oil changed, and they told me that all my tires need to be replaced...like they're so bad if I hit a rock I might blow a tire. hahaha. that's what they told me. SO...gonna have to pencil that into the auto spending for this month, too. Dang. However- it's a ton cheaper to license a car here than in Nebraska...so that's good. And my new Mich driver's lic is on it's way to me in the mail too...all that took was about 8 pieces of identification, two trips to the DMV, and about 2 hours to get all that taken care of. Also sweet, the first lady that helped me said I had to take a written test, so I did that, it was freakin LONG...then I took my test up to another lady after that, and apparently that first one was a newbee, cause I DIDN"T HAVE TO TAKE IT. Wow. But I passed, so that's good. =) Anyways, all that can be checked off the to-do list now, finally.

For some of you who haven't been to our place, actually most of you, here is what the outside of the building looks like....pictures don't do it justice.

Ours is the second floor, above red flower lady. Nice. At any rate, if I knew how to do one of those circle pics (what? you know, like you can go on hotel websites and get a 3-d view of the room) like scott and carissa did for their apt, that would be kinda fun, but I dont, so here is our place. =) Nice view of the pine tree from our bedroom window huh. You've already seen shots of the back of the building, which is the lake, it's about 10 o'clock if you're looking at this photo. The left edge of the building has a bunch of trees and then the mighty bluff...hahaha...that goes down to the beach and the lake. Nice. ok, I have much to do before Ry comes home, so I will write more later. seeeeee yaaaaa

My Husband, the Prankster.

So, just a little update on how my man has been. He works with about 20 ladies that are constantly giving him a hard time- some more than others....and I knew he was begining to 'fight back'...but I didn't really know what he was capable of until he told me this story of his day.

Wednesdays he has a different assistant, since it is Deb's day off...and this particular lady, Linda, maybe in her early 50s, could be the queen jokster of the office. Never take her seriously, this I have learned. Very funny lady. At any rate, she and another gal the works in the front office, Kristie, have become pretty close over the many years they've worked for Dr. Smith. Last week Kristie was scheduled with Ryan to get a venier on one of her front tooth for whatever reason, on the day that Linda was Ryan's assistant. So the day before Ryan and Linda came up with a plan....maybe Kristie thought everything was safe since it was Ryan working on her....sheeeesh. Ryan and Linda get done working on Kristie, Ryan leaves the room, Linda puts her temporary on - which is only supposed to last a few weeks until the 'real' tooth shape comes back from the lab. Ryan comes back in the room to check it out, looks things over, says everything is good, hands Kristie the mirror and this is what she sees:

AHHHHH!!!!! Sprinkles IN the tooth colored material!! Are you kidding me. She freaked out. Didn't even know that could work. Of course all the other ladies knew what was happening, so they came running to check it out, take some pictures. Everyone was laughing pretty hard. Good job Ry. That's my dentist man!! Anyone need their teeth fixed??! But right after that he redid it cause who wants to walk around like that for 2 weeks. hahaha. She did want to keep it for her brother's party that was last weekend, not sure how that turned out. Anyways, just wanted to share that with you guys. =)

Ode to Pregnancy

There's been some talk of my belly (sick i hate to call it that because it never should be a good thing to say that my belly is getting bigger)....and I do have some pictures, I've been taking them on the first of every month, just for fun, and I think Erin has some..I think I'll just wait until we are in person, and you may see for yourself. =) HA!

I have another appt on Monday. Can't believe it's been a month already. Being the not-so-hospital-going person that I am, I have a hard time believing that these monthly appts are even necessary. I have no idea what else they would need to do at this point...pee in a cup, weigh me, check my blood pressure, and say 'yup, looks like you're still pregnant'. and out the door. Do I really have to go for that? And then at the end I have to go every week?!?! Foolery.

On a more exciting note, I gave myself a haircut today, looks better than the blob that I could see it becoming...wonder if Ryan will be able to tell. hmmm... Anyways, got some laundry done, balanced the check books, cleaned the bathrooms and the kitchen, and now I'm headed to workout...I've recently discovered that the scale of cardio uncomfortableness for pregnant people goes as follows:

1. Riding a bike (especially the ones with the pedals in front of you instead of below)
2. Running
3. Jogging
4. Elliptical things
5. Step mill
(walking would be right here, but that doesn't really count as a workout)

1 being oww can't do it, and 5 having the highest chance of finishing the amount of time set out to complete. Today I will step it up. Also, I will smoke my abs after this kid comes out cause that will be very sad if they (what abs I used to have) were gone permanently.

At any rate, everyone read Heather's post and then start praying. Just a girl from Nebraska. sigh. Bye now!

17 Down, 23 to Go.

That's right. I have a large onion inside of me. Don't be fooled, you are seeing three in the picture, but I assure you that there is only one 'live' onion. 5 oz. and 5 inches. Nice.
Did anyone get the new football playstation game?? Cause I didn't. I think it comes out today. Ryan's excited. =)
I will leave you with a quote from a guy from our church...a while ago I mentioned we were learning about worship, and all the different 'activities' that includes, instead of just music, which is what most people think of when they think 'worship'.
"It isn't about IF you're worshipping, because every person is worshiping something...So it's really about what you are worshipping, what has your attention, your time, your energy, ect. at any time of the day, and are you doing that for the Glory of God."

Things of News

Saturday night, Ryan and I went to a Jazz Festival thing down on the beach....St Joe has it every year, Tabor Hill Winery is one of the big sponsors....and of course our awesome friend Kenny gave us the hook up with free tickets. So we had a blast on the beach listening to awesome music, havin some free drinks (Ry), and eating all we could stuff in of Tabor Hill's AWESOME snackies. Oh man it was good cookin. Took a couple pictures, and of course you can't really tell how many people were there cause there's no way, and the sunset was awesome but, again, we don't have a sweet camera like Aaron's... We just spent the night with our faces about 6 inches apart trying to yell over the sax slash band in the background. =) We were both amazed at the amount of people that were absolutely tanked...as the night went on. Hilarious. And of course, they're all adults, pry have kids at home with a sitter....it's amazing to think that maybe some of these college crazies will grow out of that 'gettin sloshed on the weekends' phase, but sadly, no. Come to find out, many adults carry that far into their later years, and continue to make fools of themselves- without even knowin. Altogether humerous and entertaining for Ryan and I, however. Wow.

Kenny is in the last pic with Ry, VERY generous man, has a beautiful woman and baby, one of Ryan's good buddies from highschool, college roomie for a while, pretty much one of the next ones in line for ownership slash 'the man' of Tabor Hill...let's just say he's doing very well for his family and VERY good at what he does. He's a great friend.

I also have some news, a bit more disturbing I suppose...Ryan and I found THIS on our deck.
oh boy. We have been trying to revive it this last week, but clearly, absolutely nothin. Somehow, within the last week and a half, this hanging pot of crap turned from huge blooming AWESOME pink flowers with dark green leaves blowing in the breeze above the grill to this pile of squishy sprouts attached to crusty brown and gray things that used to be leaves. I thought I saw in a movie some time ago...someone told one of the characters this was the levels of responsibilities, and after completing one, then it was safe to try your luck at the next. If you can keep a plant, get a pet. If you can keep a pet, get a girlfriend. And I'm sure the next thing, if they would have continued, would have been a child. What if I can't even keep a plant?!?!?! CRAP! I had one job. Water. I didn't even have to look at it, or pay attention to it, hold it, talk to it, you know, the usual kid stuff....sheeesh. screwed. just thought you might like to know that now i'm a little nervous....also, dont' say it outloud cause this week it has EARS!!!! shhhhhh.........

Wisconsin here I Come!

Today I got to see my good friend, Scipp. She looks great. All around awesome day. She flew into Chicago early this morning, so I drove over to Mike's new awesome house and hung out with them for a while...and then Scipp and I drove another long time....?...to Wisconsin where she's staying with her aunt and uncle. This is where I will have to drive to see me friend in the fall. Just under 4 hours. Dang. Might as well stay in Nebraska and have me visit. Sheeesh.....by the time you figure in all that Chicago driving, it's about the same- minus the toll roads. =)

Also. Bought my first elastic waist bottoms today. A jean skirt. Actually pretty cute and waaaaaaaaay more than I can even write...more comfortable than forcing on the jeans. Can't even tell ya. I actually think they should start making them for everyone, not just the pregnants. But I will say that you definitely have to be in the right mood for that first purchase, and I had a good friend to be right there with me. =) After being pissed at my 'small' wardrobe for so long, I had enough.

At any rate, we are just moments away from a new hairdo for Scipp, so I will have to call it a night. Plus its dark in the room and the bright screen hurts my eyes. Don't want any vision impairment before the big cut. So long!

A week of fun

SO, alot has happened within the last week...thus I have not been posting. My apologies. First of all, the trip to FL with Erin was a blast, but very short. Cost me $17 total, left over from what rewards points didn't cover, and the wedding gift. Can't beat that! All thanks to two very generous uncles and grandmas. Tony and Kim, being gator fans, decided it would be great to have orange and blue glow sticks to wave around as they left the reception, here's what Erin and I thought of that.

And here's their cake. Cute. The reception place served ice-cream sundaes instead of cake, that was fun cause they had those little fake cherries (as Ryan calls em) that I love. =)

At any rate, most of the pics were on Erin's camera, and you guys don't know my extended fam anyways, so I will save those pics for now. =)

This just in, I received another email from BabyCenter.com.....Scipp, this is you're lucky week. Back in May sometime (?) she wanted to know when the kid was the size of a certain food because they were her favorite. Now is the time.....for...an....AVOCADO!! =) Wow. I thought they gave up on food descriptions! No longer do I have slightly larger than last week's lemon, but a green tasty item the shape of a weird football! Excellent. I will leave you with that food for thought. =)

Carissa Kay Martino

Everybody say a big Happy Bday to Carissa Martin...the big 24 TODAY!!

Carissa Martin everybody. (clap clap clap)

vs;oevan;erlk'

Last night's fireworks on the pier were pretty much awesome. I saw the HUGEST (is that a word) boat that carried cement come out of St. Joseph river- in reverse cause it was too huge to turn around- and then head north after it turned itself around in the lake. It had the name of a town I forget by Ryan told me it's on the opposite diag corner of the state (if Mich were a square)...so it had a long way to go. Especially cause when we noticed it to when it was out of the little river it was over half an hour. Dang. And there was an orchestra playing for about an hour before the show...all around awesome time. But I forgot my camera. Dang it.

But today, turns out, I have much to do...groceries, jewlery shopping, wal mart run, food to make for tonight's group, work out, shower, pack for the weekend, and then community group at 6. I better get hoppin.

At Connection, our wed night meetings, we are talking about 'worship' and all the avenues that includes along with music- which is what people normally thing the only way to worship is. It was so great last week, and we're talking about it again tonight, so I'm excited...no time to write about it now, there's too much. I'll keep ya posted. hahaha. bye!

Basking in the sun.

Today I have already spent an hour down on our beach with 'Velvet Elvis'. I had a fun time with myself. I will also go hang out with the pastor's wife and her kids in a few at a pool for the afternoon. Seeing as it's super hot with minimal cloud protection today, and my skin is deceivingly tan thanks to $7 lotion, I think it would be a good time for some sunscreen...also, I'm not excited about hanging out in my swimmy cause my gut likes to hang out more than I'd like it to. Probably something I should get over quickly. Hm. If only it could hold out til after swimsuit season. Actually hold 'in' would be even better.

Anyhoo, just read my sister's post. Hilarious. Everyone should read it. And the one right before that one. Speaking of posts, NO ONE IS WRITING!! What am I supposed to read during the day. Sheesh. =)

Also, as yesterday was Monday, my 'pot roast' as one sibling called it, has now entered into week 15. I read the email, and usually they have some sort of food analogy for those visual pregnant women.......nothin. All they said was 2 1/2 oz. and 4 inches. woah. I'll just have to go off of week 14, and just call it 'bigger than last week's lemon.' Here's a bit of trivia should it come up in conversation some day- they measure the kid's size from head to butt until about week 20, because the legs are curled up so close to the stomach they are too hard to measure. Interesting. So in week 20 it grows 4 inches. hahaha.

Enough writing. I'm going to the pool.

My week.

Monday. I feel very busy today... lots to do, places to go, people to see, and eventually people to cook for slash entertain. man o man. Then Ryan and I and Nate and Joy and Susie are going to go see Ratatouille. Why would you spell it like that. i had to look it up. Anyways, should be pretty cute.

Tuesday. I feel not as busy about tomorrow...we shall see what the sun brings.

Wednesday. America will celebrate Evan's last day of classes in Brazil, and he will return home a week later. And of course, lots of crackers to watch. Although, it will be hard to live up to last year's show, we sat atop Nate and Mike's house with a bunch of friends down south of South Pointe and were able to see any thing that blew up in Lincoln. That was AWESOME. This year will be crackers at Silver Beach by the lighthouse over the lake. hmmm. sounds sweet to me.

Thursday. Recover and pack.

Friday. Meet my sis in Florida for the weekend with some extended fam on a different beach! My cousin is gettin hitched on Sat (7-7-07) hahaha. Can't wait. Plus the plane ticket was free! Rewards points! =)

Now you all know what I'm doing. Just in case you need me. :) What an exciting post. sheeesh
