Sunday, Sunday

It's been a loooong time since I've posted any stories on here about the 'funny' things that happen to Ryan and I. (they're only funny after the day is over and the boys are asleep). And since today was a day to remember, I will write about it so you can all wish you were us. =)

As some of you may know, we've been on the search for a mini van for a few weeks now, and have had some pretty good luck finding deals online...I say finding because whenever we pursue them the van is already sold or the people don't respond or whatever.... Anyways, we find one we were interested in earlier this week up in Grand Rapids. Not bad, we have friends there, might as well make an afternoon of it and hangout a while. I email the owners, they email back and say 'sure, come anytime over the weekend, we're putting on a new roof, we'll be around.' Awesome. So, today after church, we tried to call them and ask if there was a certain time that would be good to show up. No answer. Whatever, they said they'd be home, so we go anyways. Dustin and Breanne are free to hang out for a few hours, we'll just head up there. [begin 75 minute drive right at nap time]. Garrett takes forever to fall asleep, so he's MR. CRABBO when we get there cause he didn't get to sleep enough. Sheeesh...not a big deal. Annoying, but oh well. Dustin drives by the house for us to see if they're home. Not home. Roofing stuff all over the driveway and the door is open, but they're not home. hmmmm... We get up there, swing by the place 30 minutes later, still no one home. So we decide to hang out first, and try stopping by again at like 6 or so on our way out of town.

So now we're on our way to our friend's parents' house...pull into the neighborhood and Ry was like...'what is that SMELL?!" We turn around, G has a hand full of runny nasty colored poop which has already been smeared on his shirt and shorts and seat belts. He's squeezing and oozing it thru his fingers and rubbing his hands together. Stop the car immediately. Ryan gets G out, I get the supplies, we strip him down and give him a wet-wipe bath with cars driving by, on the side of the road in a super nice subdivision next to our bonny with three hubcaps. Luckily I had the boys' swim shorts and shirts with us so there was a change of clothes available - not always the case. WOW. Delay = 15 minutes. Whew, got that taken care of, besides the smell in the car, and we finally pull in to Randy and Judy's place. hang out, swim a little....and the boys remind us (especially G) that they are NOT afraid of the water....

Little example of that: once they realized they could just walk out into it, temp was nice, it's pretty shallow, they were already drenched...Garrett just starts walkin out towards the end of the L-shaped dock, where Ry was sitting facing the other way dipping Ethan in the water. I'm sitting on shore with Dustin and Breanne,...we're just watchin G venture out... and they say, "I wonder how far he will go before he realizes he can't touch." (The end of the dock is pry waist deep on me- waves were minimal) Oh nope. Just KEEPS WALKING...waters like up to his neck...and I tell Ry to turn around who picks E up from where he was playing, leans over the OTHER side of the dock in time to pull Garrett out by an arm, who was completely UNDER the water by then and lifts him onto the dock- which was right when I got out there. His reaction: humm. That was fun. And just starts walking away. DIDN'T EVEN CARE. No crying, nothin. OOOOOHHH MY GOSH!!!! We had to grab him from walking off the end of the dock like 15 times too. Let's just say he's NOT AFRAID of water.

Ok, anyways, it's 6:00, time to pack up, back in the smelly car we leave to go try that house again to see if they're home. Ry says we should try calling again (they haven't answered the 3 other times we've called already today) and they answer this time, surprising....she tells me that the car sold. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Que screaming babies because they're hungry, so we get back on the highway to head home, and they both scream for the next 30 min like someone cut off their limbs. Ry pulls in to Arbys, we both get out, he goes in to get food and I stay in the parking lot cause my ears are ringing....delay = totally worth it. They eat curly fries the rest of the way home. Ryan and I decide to put the van search on hold for a while...a loooong while, since we have until November. We'll just stick to the trusty bonny for a few more months. I yi yi.

I was telling my dad of our events today, and he seems to find the 'it could always be worse side' of the story....had we got the van today, G could have pooped in THAT instead!....sigh.. He's right. It could always get worse. =) If nothing else, we got some cute pictures!

Fun in the Sun!

Josh White's parents have a sweet pool that we get to use during the summer, and now that baby Elle is here, they make sure to keep the pool heated and well stocked with toys. YES! So, Emily, Heather and I brought the whole gang in and splashed around for a few hours today. AND, the boys got to try out their new swimmys!! They didn't seem to mind them, but it was funny watching them get used to moving in their muscle outfits. =) Much more summer fun to be had I'm sure!

Feelin lucky?

Here's your chance to be RIGHT!! odds = 50/50.

Next tuesday is my ultrasound...which means we will be finding out the sex of T3 as well. We're plan ahead people. =) Now... Ry won't be able to come to the appointment, so what we will do is have the nurse write it on a little piece of paper and seal it in an envelope, which we will open together that night on a special little date. (Thanks Ted and Alicia-I think-for the idea to make it special, and probably the many others who have done something similar and told me about it.) Anyhoo, Ry says boy - of course - and I say, ONE. Thankfully I have been right so far. haha. So, now's your chance to cast in your votes and we'll see what the verdict is in a few days! woop woop!

Our Sons!

You guessed it! Yesterday was the boys' half birthday, which makes them officially 18 months!! YIKES! And in honor (actually, it's just what we happened to do yesterday) we went to the Hong Kong Kitchen with Grammy and Grandpa and to the park for some slide/swing time...which I forgot my camera. Dang. Anyhoo, here's some pics from yesterday that are pretty much the cutest ever. =) Enjoy!

Weddin Time!

Well, we made it safely there and back and have tons of memories from the weekend! Cale and Meg's wedding was AWESOME, and thanks to many key people went smoothly and as scheduled with no major problems. As you all may have known, the weather for Omaha was pretty much rain all weekend, and with an out door wedding that can be a bit of a downer. But both bride and groom were not worried (alot of others worried enough for them) and sure enough, God saw that the sky would clear and the sun would come out just in time for a beautiful ceremony in a beautiful park. It was so fun. I only have a few pictures of the weekend because we use Erin and Josh's camera most of the time since it's better. SO, check their blog for more pics and I'm sure someone in the fam will have MANY pictures on facebook if you're really that interested. =) SO, here's a short collection of the ones I have.

The first are a few from visiting my grandpa in Oakland on saturday morning, since he couldn't make it to the wedding. It was so sweet to see him again, I wish we lived closer for just that reason. And the boys love him!

Sunday morning we went over to mom's and hung out with grandma and our uncle and aunt from Florida. The groom was able to hang out for a while too and spend some time with the nephies! PS, it's raining outside during this time- day of wedding- and groom is cheery as can be. he said he only got like 2 hours of sleep the night before cause he was so dang excited. haha!

Here's one of the groomsmen and then another with the beautiful bride and her two bros. her family is SO MUCH FUN- the tall wierd one was my walking partner. haha. Suits looked awesome, meg's dress was so beautiful, and even more amazing was to know that her mom MADE her dress and all the bridesmaid dresses. SO Amazing. And for the reception, Meg put on a pink sash around her waist and a pink rose in her hair. She was hot. =)

Not really a great angle, but here's a view of the bm dresses- the most comfy ones EVER. And great for being pregnant! That's the only pic I have. how terrible!

A bit into the reception the boys had enough and decided to call it a night. SO grandma and mom got to hold the little sweaty blobs while they slept, they were really sad about that. haha. JK SO CUTE!

Anyways, like I said, make sure you check Erin's blog cause I'm sure she'll have some more action shots of our packed weekend!

Hump Day.

Well hello! I was planning on putting up some pictures of our landscaping, but all those are saved on the external hard drive and that's too much work for the hour. So you'll have to keep waiting. =)

BUT, I see that I have a few of the new furniture and of the boys breakin it in...so here they are...

A few things to note:
1. Notice the cleanliness. it doesn't take long to get all full of slobber, carpet fuzz, and cracker crumbs
2. Large furniture in a large room, which took us a while to get used to, but now it's hard not to notice the empty walls. haha. It's gonna be like that for a while. dang. at least they're painted!
3. Binoculars needed from a few seats to see the tv. good thing we don't have cable?

I gave the boys another hair cut today....clippers. WOW. Ethan didn't like it so much, so his doesn't look as good. They need to look ship shape for this weekend, since we're leavin on Friday for NEB to hang out with the fam for a short weekend and to witness Cale and Meg get hitched!! WOOP WOOP! Can't wait. I've been told everyone's hair is all on me. Bring it.

Alas, I must hand over the care-taking of babe Elle after tomorrow. It's been 6 weeks already and Lakeshore is done with school today- tomorrow is just a teacher's day. So Em can stay home! That went pretty dang fast if you ask me. Elle's pry been ready for 5 weeks now already. haha...the boys REEEALLY like her! Just one step closer to some time at the beach with Em and Elle!
