gettin ready for the little dudes...

I've been very tired lately. Could be cause I'm pregnant. Dang. Anyways, just assembled the finest rocking chair in Southwest Michigan. Came in the mail today from mom for my shower gift. Wooo hooo!! Here's a good action shot of it.

Sit in there for about 5 minutes and your stomach is bound to go crazy. Its awesome. Maybe it's like an amusement part for the dudes. I have to stop after a while cause what if they get sea sick.

Also, I will NOT post that pic I was describing down below. That would be bad. But here are a few better ones...just cause I'm a bit bigger than the last photos I put up. =)

Monday, Monday

Another week has just begun
There are many things to be done
Something planned every night
Nebraska trip is already in sight!

Last night when Ry and I got home,
feeling really uncomfortable in my clothes,
I switched and put one of Ryan's pants on
and wore them in a way I had never done.

With the waist pulled up as high as it went,
the pants hung down, hiding my legs like a tent.
It felt more comfortable to wear for a while
Ry couldn't stop laughing at my new style.

I took a picture, which you can imagine
All dressed up in that kind of fashion.
I will not post it for all to see
Who knows how many people look at this thing!

totally sweet.....

Today, let me just tell you, I had a bit of a run-around...Ryan's mom gave us this jumbo mirror to use where ever we wanted...it didn't have a frame and it was a strange shape - 32" x 37". To go and have that framed would have cost us an arm and a leg, so I chose to go purchase a frame at Meijer (the fancy WalMart) which is about 10-15 min away thru town. Find a frame for $30. Then I go to this glass/mirror company and have them cut the mirror down a bit to fit the frame- 24" x 36". $6. Nice. Cheaper than I thought. (Susie thought I could do it for about $150-200 bones. uhhhh no.) On my way thru the apartment door downstairs, trying to carry too many things at once, the back corner of the mirror decides it would be nice to 'tink' against the sidewalk. There goes the corner of the mirror, making it no longer fit into the frame that I purchased. Of course I'm by myself, pissed because I'm an idot, and just stood there staring at it like that was going to magically reattach itself. Don't you wish sometimes you could just rewind even the last 10 seconds and just 'try again'. Dang. SO, after I put away my other things, I headed back out to Meijer and found the next size smaller frame, and headed back to the mirror place to have it re-cut. (that was a bit embarassing) What I saved in exchanging the smaller frame for the first one, I paid to have the thing re-cut...so it didn't cost me anything but gas money for an hour and I was just left with a smaller product. Sheeeeesh. still an idot. But now both the frame and the mirror are safely in the apartment on the carpet. Can't wait to tell Ry. haha

Also, had another doctor's appt yesterday am...had to take a glucose test to see if I'm diabetic. Tasted like an orange pop. not bad. Made my head hurt after a while cause I had to down it in 10 minutes, but that's ok. Anyways, found out both guys are head down now...don't know how that happened. I couldn't even tell one was flippin. I can tell that the bottom of my stomach feels heavier then it did a few days back. And now the top part of my stomach is 'stomping grounds' and all four little feet are goin crazy. haha. Pretty fun.

That's all the news I have for now...seeeee yaaaaa

Another great week...

SOOOOOOO....as most of you know, I headed back to NE last Thursday for my grandma's funeral. It was AWESOME! Not something you usually hear about a funeral, but I thought everything went really well, and of course it's always good to see the extended family and catch up, even though the reason for the gathering isn't the best. Grandma's health was going down the tube fast, she wasn't in a lot of pain, which is incredible, but she was getting to the point that she didn't want to live anymore. it was getting harder for grandpa to take care of her, and she was scared of having any surgery, even if it would have helped keep her around longer. She died on 9-11, and Wednesday they were supposed to have a meeting with the doc to find out what the test results said. Grandpa didn't go, but found out later that it was actually ovarian cancer that took over...and those are sometimes hard to do anything about just because it spreads so easily. But the memories Grandpa and my uncles shared this weekend were so much fun to listen to, and good for everyone to talk about and just remember. Grandpa was pretty sad at times, but he kept tellin his jokes and making people laugh. I'll see if I can gather up some pics from the weekend....

I set my cam on top of Cale's car and told everyone we would have to squish in...so we did and look at all that extra space. hahaha. and i'm not even lookin at the camera. seriously.

Here's the brothers and my favorite grandpa. =)

and my favorite...

Then of course it was fun to be in Lincoln on Sunday and hang out with some friends for a short bit, got to spend some time with Bama and she made this AWESOME meal for me. holy cow... and then back to Mich on Monday. It's getting to feel more and more like home each time I come back...I miss the weather and the pace, and of course my man...and there's something to be said about just being around your own things...home-y. =) But in a week and a half Ryan and Scipp and I will make our last and final trek to NE for a long time...cause it's getting uncomfortable to drive that far, and because we're not taking infants in the car with us for 8.5 hours, for our own sanity. But the fam and some girlfriends are having a shower for me, and Ryan will get to hang out with his bro in Lincoln, and Scipp will get to go on a long awaited hot date with her man and see some friends. =) Can't wait. This is pretty much a book, so I will bring it to a close. Thank you all for your concerns this weekend and for checkin up on me. Bye for now!

it's still Tuesday...

Well, tonight ended up being a bit different than planned...the two other couples had things come up and will be back in the saddle next week, so we ended up just having supper with our friends, Josh and Emily, anyway! It's always fun to hang out with them and talk. Plus their dog is just sweet. You'll see pics of him soon...

Also, Ryan's assistant, Deb, and her husband just got back from a 10 day vacation to Alaska...it comes highly recommended if you should ever get the chance to go. They had a blast. There was a little something they brought back with them...and we had some fun with it tonight at Ryan's parent's house. =)

And last and mostly important, my grandma went to be with the Lord today. As some of you know, her health has been rapidly going downhill since we moved, first diabetes, then the found a tumor on her colon, fluid kept pooling up in her midsection...all sorts of bad things...and for the most part, I don't think she was in a lot of pain, just uncomfortable. Her body kept getting weaker and weaker...the last couple days she had to spend in the nursing home, which wasn't very fun for her I'm sure, but grandpa was by her side every day sitting with her making sure she was ok. Dad told me that grandpa was there holding her hand this afternoon when she just sort of 'fell asleep'...and that was it. I am thankful that she is done dealing with all the doctor things she's had to put up with, but it's really hard to think of how lonely grandpa must be right now. They've been married for 65ish years...that's a long time to love someone. The funeral will be this weekend sometime, and I plan to come back for it...hopefully Ryan's schedule allows him to as well, but we shall see. I wrote them a letter and mailed it today...couple days too late, I guess. Sept 11. Easy day to remember.

and a fine tuesday it is...

In case you all were wondering...I haven't been awake since Saturday. I know a lot of you were concerned because of the overwhelming volume of comments on that last post, so I thought I'd clear that up. =)

People often ask me how I'm sleeping, or if I'm sleeping...and the answer is yes, because I would die. However, the quality and duration of each sleep experience is ever-changing, and most of the time I will be awake once or twice in the night...just gettin ready for all the wake up calls in a few months, I guess. =)

Tonight we are kickin off a potential small group with 3 or 4 other couples around our age...we had to go outside of our small church to find them. =) Should be pretty fun. I think it's going to be a mix of Biblical and topical...if that's possible, and the idea of 'marriage' came into the suggestion box. Ryan and I have so much info on 'A Biblical Portrait of Marriage' from our super extensive pre-marriage classes -thanks to Faith Bible Church. I think it would be a blast. Most of every topic (finances, 'happiness', holidays, communication, kids, ect) comes down to expectations...and if that's not talked thru BEFORE the day...woah. SO, since none of the other couples have had those type of discussions, I think we're in for a real treat, and it will be a great way for us to get to know each other, not to mention GREAT for their own marriages. AND if you're not talking with people who ARE happily married on a regular basis-finding out what they do/don't do to be 'successful', then of course your view on your own marriage becomes skewed, and it all starts to spiral downhill, and in come comparisons, 'woe is me'- very nasty....you know, just bad things start to happen. Anyways....first meeting is tonight. Gonna be fun.

Also, I haven't put a pic of Ry up here in a while, and I'm a bit concerned that you all don't remember what he looks like. I tried to tell him this pic was important, but this is as good as it got. hahaha

He's talking to one of his teeth buddies on the phone. =)

In the still of the night.....

What do you write about when you can't sleep?
I'm tired.
been up for almost an hour.
no sign of getting tired.
I have nothing to write about....

I will tell you all that Ryan and I have officially become part of the community support of our local Lakeshore football team. Woah. Pulled off a win in the 4th quarter last night....dont' know how they did it. The game was horrible. Not to mention all the screaming jr-highers running everywhere NOT watching, and sitting at the freakin top of the seats....I was totally out of breath both times I had to walk up. But it goes down as a "W" in the books! 11-8. Altogether pretty fun evening. Today is also another scheduled 'football' day. We will do nothing. I should bring a book. Hm....

Well...as fun as this is to read, I'm gonna have to end it. If only this upside down dude would get his foot out of my ribs...

No, we will not name them Tanner and Tate. =)

oh man.....

Ryan and I had a fabulous weekend in Kansas City with Todd and Liz and Erin...the car ride was long, but we had lots of fun together. Of course football Saturday was fun for Ryan, and I think he felt like it was actually a weekend this time, even though we were traveling. Probably just because we didn't schedule anything when we were down there...he liked that. So right after we got back to St Joe, we went straight to Ry's parent's house, Susie saw that Ryan and I were matching...so she thought it would be funny to stuff a pillow up Ryan's shirt. haha. check it out. We almost look the same. =)

Then the next morning was our ultrasound...yesterday. Most of you who read this I am regularly on the phone with.....so you probably already know the news. But incase you don't, I'll hit it to you straight.

We're having twins. Boys. Both of em. Not identical.

Pick up your jaw. That's what I have to keep telling myself. Oh man. Our appt was almost 4 hours long, which was ridiculous, but I guess since there are two little guys, they had to make sure everything was ok with both of em. =) After that Ry had to go back to work for a few hours....he said he couldn't even concentrate. haha. We were pretty much on the phone until about midnight last night calling all the family and some friends....woah. Our faces hurt from smiling so much. =)

I'll tell you what is so AWESOME though, when you all get a chance, Lord willing, to have a child and to see it moving all around on the screen, to see all it's parts, kickin and punchin everywhere. Can't even describe it. God is amazing! His creation is UNREAL!!!!! We are both thankful for all the support we have in our friends and family and all the people that shared in our excitement yesterday with us!! Thanks!!!! But now we are forced into some serious planning...which I have been very good at putting off. =) The doc didn't change the due date, it's still Christmas Day, but more than likely they'll come early. So it's a surprise! Which means I should get crackin if I plan on getting things together while I'm still mobile! =) I'll keep ya posted. (hahah)
