What a day for a daydream

SO, went grocery shopping today again...with the boys...this time I had to get a lot of stuff, so I had to push the cart with both boys in it and pull the cart with all the food. =) worked out great, and I had fun too...(mostly I was just laughing at how ridiculous I must have looked)

Whilst I was there, numerous women stopped me and asked questions about my little guys...good thing I went on a Monday morning when it wasn't as busy as other times....but lots of people asked me if I had a girl and a boy. ummmm...NO. hahahaaahaa. Bet they felt dumb. Little note to my readers. Don't ask a random if it's a girl or boy. Instead, you should say something like 'what's their name?' or 'how old' because then the random will most likely respond with 'he's... or she's blah blah.' Then you will know your answer. When in doubt, don't assume, because you're probably wrong. =)

So when I got home, I decided to take a pic of Ethan (the one that kept getting accused of womanhood) and let the audience take a poll. On a scale of one to girly, let's get some ratings in the comment section going.

maybe it's the pink flamingo?? Better take a different toy next time. =)

1. Garrett's diaper rash!!! Good!!

Also, we were at Joe and Susie's last night watchin bball games...I got copies of all the recent sweet pictures... here's a few goodies...
hahahaaa...

Chicago!

We, as a family, just got home from our weekend get away in the heart of downtown Chicago. We were makin memories, that's for sure. Ryan has two weekends in a row of CE courses, the last one was about sedation dentistry, and this upcoming 4-day trip to Virginia with some other staff is something else, don't remember. Anyways, to avoid being without my man for 2 weekends in a row, the boys and I decided to tag along! There would be way too much to read if I told you all the details, so I will not, but we took some serious pics, so I'll just tell you about the highlights and show you some good ones. =) Maybe this wouldn't have been so long if internet at the hotel wasn't $10 per day!!!

The boys relaxin watchin some hotel tv.

my fav...hahahhaaaaaa

Ryan had class all three days from 7:30am to 5:30pm. After he was done we spent a good deal of time walkin around Mich ave and surrounding areas. The boys and I did our fair share of walking during the day too while dad was busy.

Friday night we had a hot date at the Cheesecake Factory...the boys tagged along too...it was pretty much crazy trying to squeeze the giant stroller thru the tables and such. The boys enjoyed it though, and the food is always amazing....

domination. That was some good cookin.

and navy pier was about 6 blocks away from our hotel so we walked there twice when ry was busy. we'll have to go back sometime when the boys can ride the rides. =)
for now they just liked being there with mom. i didn't hear em say that, but I'm pretty sure that's what they would have said if they could talk.

don't worry, I know you're all freaking out, the stroller wheels are LOCKED!

there were many other fun things, like getting a free coffee drink at a packed cafe after waiting in line with my huge stroller, finally getting to the front and ordering, THEN finding out that their credit card machine was down and they were only accepting cash- which I don't carry...so the guy felt sorry for me cause i looked like an idiot trying to figure out how to get the three of us out of there without running into everyone...wow. that was slightly embarrassing cause he was a loud man...felt like he had a megaphone. So if there was anyone in the shop that didn't notice me walk in, then they for sure knew that i ordered something i couldn't pay for! awesome. but I got a free drink!

i should have taken a pic of the crib they wheeled in, too. WOW. it was bad. BUT, we made it and had a great time all around. Now we're home and back at it ready for another busy week!

First time for everything....

Well it's gonna happen sooner or later...I had to take both of em to the grocery store...alone. Woah. Wish I could have taken a picture of myself with the cart...full before I even got into the store. That would have been strange though for the people in the parking lot. Those carts aren't made for 2 carseats I guess. haha. Ethan was positioned in the nose of the cart, and Garrett's seat was perpendicular pretty much on Ethan's lap...so his feet had to curl up to make room. I also never really noticed how dang loud carts are when you're just drivin across the parking lot. They were both asleep when I started...

Well, the trip came to be because I needed a reload for Garrett's miracle in a tube. That's right, diap rash STILL isn't gone yet. It's def better, especially cause this is what the doc said to do...again with the details...I'll just leave it up to inquiring minds to pursue further details. BUT, I am getting smarter!! We had company for the weekend, so I couldn't do the no-diap thing- might have freaked em out...so today, back at it. Only THIS time I'm using our old dish towels, which for some reason Ryan had a million of em from before I came along. Can't even tell you how much easier it is to not have to take pants on and off...plus I think his legs can breath more. Dang I'm good. AND, he pooped in the first one (go figure) but I wasn't even phased. Start laundry, insert about 10 soiled cloths, already clean and ready for the second round of pee. Bring it.

Here's a pic of his little bottom. Still happy. =)

And they've been starting to hold things for a little while anyways...and then they twitch and the beanie baby goes flying. Better just put up these pics cause they're so dang cute.

Also house hunting it going great...we've been thru about 15 homes and we're starting to get a better idea of what we like/don't like....and how much house you can get with what amount of money. Last night we hung out with Ryan's buddy who is a middle school teacher...builds houses on the side...his little hobby. WOW. He's amazing. he gave us this GIANT book of home plans that's like 2 inches thick to look thru and get ideas, so we brought it back to him last night to ask he and his wife some questions. we shall see what comes of it...so much fun!

In addition to recent news....

Just a few things to say tonight before I go to bed...

1. Update on Garrett's butt...the other day I picked up Miracle in a tube...don't really know what it's called (Nystatin Ry says-means nothing to me) but it's worked wonders and today I didn't have quite the load (haha) to launder. He's still happy.

2. Ethan has recently discovered his voice in the high pitched octave...it's a very happy squeely song he sings. pretty dang funny!

3. We have travel/visitors starting next weekend thru the end of May! So many things to do and people to see! It's going to fly by!

4. Ryan loves his job and is very good at it....word on the street.

5. I LOVE when people comment on my blog, dont' know why I don't do it more for others...sheeeesh. Thanks readers! It's good to hear from all of you!

6. The boys are 4 months old on the 13th. Yikes!

7. I said i'd put a pic up of the dog duo from our house-sitting experience last week. in no particular order, here they are...

Meet Jocque! ...not his best shot, but it'll work. haha

and Woody! this is about how he spends 25-28 hours of his day.

and lastly...here's a good action shot of the three of us, just a little shout out to uncle 2LT Barricklow Promotable with the camo. =)

Hey Everyone....

SO, today has been a doozie. And it's only half over!

Garrett, my second born, has some serious issues. I'll call it: Diaper Rash. For those of you who aren't parents yet, I won't scare you with the details, but let's just say it's pretty bad. BAD. BAD. It's actually been around for a few days, little guy is still happy as can be...if he wouldn't get so excited and kick his legs like crazy maybe we wouldn't be going thru this...he doesn't even notice. But like I said: BAD. Brilliant mom moment...I decided this morning to call to the Pediatrician and tell em what was up, the lady said she'd call in a prescription for me and give me a call back. Fast forward 4.5 hours and still no call, so I called her back and apparently she didn't have time to call it in yet. Likely story. Doesn't matter, it's done now, and I will be picking it up as soon as the nap is over.

Ok rewind again and let's go thru those 4.5 hours. Starting with their nap..2ish hours. Got a lot done around the house. Excellent. Here comes the brilliant moment, since the diapers rub like crazy...let's NOT wear one!! (wow, that sounds like a horrible idea when I see it written out) Garrett seemed to like the freedom. SO, just woke up, changed him into some pants that are too small because they're gonna just get dirty anyways...feed both boys. Half way thru the bottle, Garrett drops a BOMB in his diaperless pants. WOW. And of course he's still happy and keeps eating. Seriously. SO, Garrett gets a bath and puts on new pants, I clean off his bomb pants in the toilet and start some laundry. When I get back, E is crying because he wonders where everyone is, Garrett has peed thru Pants #2. Change him. Give E a bath, come back, guess what, more pee. #3. Get E dressed, Garrett starts crying because of lack of attention. I pick him up...pee. All over pants #3 and the entire front of my shirt. Pants #4. Finally time for another nap, but it's been long enough that they need to be fed again...and wouldn't you know it, pee during the meal. SOOOO, he's currently on #5 and just waking up, so I'm sure I'll be starting another load of laundry here pretty soon. And the lady said she didn't have time to call in the prescription. KINDA NEED IT....wow. Here's a pic of the little chubs wrapped in dad's crappy tshirt that also got peed on....

If he weren't so dang cute....

April here we come

Ryan and I have been housesitting for some friends of ours since last thursday...they get home this saturday. So we have a few more days left. They have two dogs, Woody and Jocques. Actually I should post pics up of them. Wow. I dont' even know how to describe our experience with them so that it fits on the page. Let's just say that Woody is a very old lab and could fall over at any time. he's awesome. Jocques is a little white fluff that they've had for less than two months...almost potty trained...that's right, almost. More like poop trained...because that's what he likes to do in the house when I leave. BUT, can't complain, I was warned and agreed to the clean up. (Count em, 4 piles of poop thus far and pry #5 waiting for me when I get back there in an hour or so.)

SO add up these things....
Dog sitting...2x
Poop Patrol
Boy sitting...2x
Boy poop patrol
Staying over at our friends' house for 10 days
Packing for the boys and me...
unpacking....
cooking/cleaning up in someone else's home
trying to keep things up at our apartment, bills, mail, laundry, trash pick up, ect...
hanging out with friends/fam this week at night
running out of diapers at the other house...
getting groceries
taking a shower!

you know...just plain busy. The only problem is that I can only get HALF of the list done, no matter which place I am for the day, AND I get to tote around the boys and all that goes with em everytime I move locations. Sweet. The trick is trying to get things done during blessed nap time....=) Which they are telling me is now over... So long friends, time for the next few hours of blur....

but we are still having fun... =)
