Bringin it back!
So, earlier on this HOT and sticky day, the fabulous Ashley let me have some fun with her hair and some highlights! I'll have to say it's been a loooooooong time since I've done that....at least a year...anyhoo. Hunt and Lou thought she looked a little strange - and some of you may think so too...
...but I think it's beauty in the making. =) And my after picture of her didn't really turn out cause it was too dark, dang it. Let's just say she looks 'sun kissed'. =) Slightly blonded on the top half of her head. Perfect for the summer. When I was blow drying her hair I got SOOOOO HOT and then never recovered the rest of the night. but it was a muggy 87ish degrees out...check out the sweaty boys on the swing. hahahaa
Nothin like holdin a sweaty kid in the summer. =) blaaee. At any rate, I had fun doin hair, just like ridin a bike. i was sailin by the time I was done.
ANNNDDD to end on a SWEET BABE PICTURE....here's the little diva. =)
so freakin cute. =)

The Lampshade
hahahaaaa, if only they still sold the lampshade dress (lovingly named by my brothers) so Sydney could REALLY look just like me. HA! Thanks for sending me the pic mom!
Let's do a comparison...just for fun.
It looks like I'm a bit older in this snapshot since I am sitting, and Sydney can't quite do that yet without folding in half.
I am seeing some size similarities here, but it's hard to tell how huge my thighs are since they're covered, but if you can see those canks peekin thru, Sydney's weight can now be explained!
Hairline = same. my hair looks kinda red though. I def dont have ANY red in my hair now, nor did I in most other baby photos i've seen, Sydney's is clear. She's doomed to be a paste.
Thankfully I wasn't covered in drool in this photo. Sydney's mouth is always open, thus, she is usually drenched.
heheee. Pretty sure she's cuter than me. I'm ok with that. =)

Rain Rain Rain
Nothing like a good fort on a rainy day. =) Now, I will say that I am slightly out of experience with my fort-building. This one was only a two-sheeter, single room...multi-level inside, but I'd say it's still beginner status. Cale, Ev, Erin and I used to build monstrosities. We would pull our 'building material' out of the woodwork....stack books on the sheets and towels cause they were stretched to the max...hahahaaa. Mom can attest I'm sure. Actually now that I think about it, they were probably not as big as I remember cause everything seems huge when you're a kid. Hmm... Anyhoo, the boys liked it, we brought our morning snack into the fort, and I'm already planning out how to make it bigger and better next time. =)
In the meantime, Sydney keeps doing what she's good at...you should see her legs. haa

Hip Hip Horrrrrrraaaaaayyyy!
Last night Ryan and I had the privilege of going to Heather's pinning ceremony at Lake Mich College and watch her celebrate with her classmates in receiving her RN. She was pretty stressed the last couple weeks since her last class was a doozy, but years of school are now behind her and she has accomplished something GREAT! As her friend, I shall say that we are VERY proud of her for all her hard work. The weather was great yesterday and the rain held off long enough for friends and fam to get together this afternoon to celebrate at their house. I, of course, love taking pictures, so I was all over it...but mostly with their camera. So here she is, in all her glory!....and her twin, Sarah. haha beautiful ladies!
And Ryan did an excellent job delegating the food...and thanks to my creative cook, she gave me this SWEET idea for the fruit bowl!
This of course was after all the food was eaten and we were cleaning things up. But it looked pretty cool full of good fruit and the little notch for the spoon handle. ha. Love it! Anyhoo, the boys stayed with Joe and Susie for the afternoon so our stress level was lowered quite a bit - AWESOME. Sydney is lil miss social, talkin it up and lovin being held as usual. so cute!
speaking of cute, check out this vid we took when we got home. hahaaaa
All that to say that we are so excited for Heather to be back to her normal self and text book FREE for a change! Just in time for summer!!! One grad party down and one to go...two more weeks and it's Uncle Whitey's turn!! Woop!
