Hippity Hoppin!

Well, just checkin in with a few updates! Josh and Erin made it safely here yesterday evening and we have been enjoying their company for 24 hours or so now. We've got a big day tomorrow, not only did Jesus raise from the dead, but Martha is hosting her first EVER holiday (not quite the same- but both miraculous) So, in preparation, I have talked with a few experienced chefs and gained hopefully enough wisdom to pull it off with some flare! Half the food was made in advance today, and tomorrow should hopefully be a breeze...little nervous about all the food fighting for time in the oven. But that's ok- who am I kidding, I eat everything even if it's bad. The boys look GREAT, Great Grandma Garton bought them some easter outfits and their amazing mom gave them a new doo this afternoon with aunt Erin holding them down! I was going to show you how cute they are, but can't get the pics to upload...tried 4 times. dang. but check back tomorrow to see some highlights!!

Wish me luck! Good thing I have lots of help keeping the boys entertained....woop!

spare time...

What do I do in my spare time? ooohhh, just build houses out of leftover boxes for the boys....ok, and myself to play in.

what do the boys do all day?? ride on their trucks, read books, eat, eat, and eat, upstairs, then downstairs, read some more, play catch with themselves, scoot things around on the floor like a car....the list goes on and on...

and Ry, when he gets a spare minute or two...plays. =)

Hello! Good bye!

well, in the last week, we had two short but sweet visits with our friends...first, Kara Plimpton and Zayne came to stay for a night while her hub was busy getting the opening weeks smoothed out on his new restaurant! Can't wait to eat there! We did have a great time together, and even though it has sometimes been a while since we've seen each other, we have no problem hittin where we left off! And now, since they moved from Florida to Lansing over Christmas, we will hopefully get to spend lots of short visits together!! Zayne is so stinkin cute, and it's obvious that he loves his mama! I think the boys had fun having another little friend to play with!

AND THEN, yesterday....Heather and Richard called randomly after church and said, 'Hey! we're stuck in Chicago for the night, you should come visit us!" How could we NOT go, that's what I'm sayin. So we packed the boys up and jumped in the car, two hours later, we were with our vacation buddies watchin bball in their hotel room. (btw, my bracket is doing surprisingly well- never done one before!) We were treated to some Chili's takeout, Heather and I treated ourselves to some Starbucks. =) All together GREAT fun, totally random, trip. We headed home for the night when the boys were ready for a scenery change, and they snoozed the whole way home. (AWESOME) We are getting ready to celebrate the end of a long hard four years thru dental school...he only has about 6 weeks left! YIKES! That means, it's been 2 years already since Ry graduated!! WOAH. Time flies. And another two years from now, Ry's bro Nate will graduate too! Anyhoo, they are so much fun and we're glad they thought of us to hang out with! love you guys!

Hello again.

It's been a while. I feel like much has been happening...but looking back, not much has actually happened. ?? Ryan and I headed up to GR last weekend to visit Dustin and Breanne and their new lil guy...

Pretty cute. Parks Cooper Vugteveen. 4 weeks old now. And if anyone wants to hear a scary delivery story that will make you NEVER want to have kids- she's the person to talk to. YIKES.

AT ANY RATE...whilst we were up there, we ordered furniture for our living room, two couches and an ottoman. yesss. Should be here 4-6 weeks-ish. Can't wait....and we also talked to Dustin about our landscaping woe's. He and his bro, Wade, own a landscaping business and he's hookin us up with some SWEET plants- We told him we wanted something awesome, original, and cheap. haha! GO! So, check back over the next couple months to hopefully see some progress to our mud hole of a yard. Thanks to the rain, this is what we're workin with right now. NOT GOOD.

I know. wow. Pretty much anything he does will be an improvement.

AANNNNDDD...we're headed to Wisconsin this weekend, after an afternoon/night in Chicago, coming back home Sunday afternoon. My uncle Ken is getting married on Saturday. it's gonna be so much fun to see all the fam...and the extended fam...and GRANDPA! Well, Grandpa Great, for the boys. =) He's such a traveling machine these days. One of my favorite men of all times.

Well, nap time is nearing it's end, so better make the most of it!
